RingCentral Privacy Policy
Libra Pelvic Physical Therapy, P.C. (“Libra Pelvic Physical Therapy,” “we,” “us,” “our”) uses RingCentral as our short message service system to communicate with patients. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our patients who use RingCentral (“System”). This Privacy Policy explains how we gather and use your information through the System.
If you use this System, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. This policy may change without notice, and your use signifies that you agree to be bound by any changes.
How the System collects information about you.
A. The System may collect technical information.
The System’s server and management system may collect technical information (e.g., message delivery status, timestamp, your processor type, processor speed, operating system type, browser type, and protocol address). Collected technical information is not linked to any of your personal identifying information. This information may be used to manage or modify the System.
B. The System may collect personal information.
The System only collects personally identifiable information if you expressly provide it. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, phone number, any other unique identifier we use, credit card information, tracking data for application analytics, and tracking data for advertising.
How we and the System use your information.
A. We and the System may use personally identifiable information.
We and the System may use personally identifiable information that you share with the System as follows: (1) if you elect to receive information about our programs, items, or services, to provide you with such information, including marketing and promotional materials; (2) to improve the System and our means of communicating with our patients; and (3) to create a non-personal summary or aggregate data for business analysis, market analysis, communications management, research, planning, and other lawful purposes. We will never sell or lease your information.
B. You may opt out of communications with the System.
If you no longer wish to receive marketing or promotional communications, please contact us with your request. We will respect your wish to opt out of such communications.
Privacy Considerations for the Use of Artificial Intelligence (“AI”).
The System integrates artificial intelligence (“AI”) technologies to facilitate communication. We are committed to protecting the privacy of your information when using these tools. With respect to the use of AI in the System, we take the following steps to protect your privacy.
A. Data minimization.
We only use the minimum amount of personal data necessary for the System’s AI features to function as intended. Where feasible, de-identified or anonymized data may be used.
B. No Sale of Personal Data.
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties, including for the purpose of training their AI models.
C. User Control.
When feasible, the System may offer you the ability to opt in or out of certain AI-powered features through your System settings or preferences.
Disclosure of Protected Health Information (“PHI”) through the System.
Our Privacy Policy details how we approach the confidentiality of our patients as it relates to their activities in the System. We take our responsibility to protect the privacy of your information seriously. Our use of the System includes providing, transmitting, and disclosing protected health information (“PHI”), such as information about your treatment and clinical progress. Accordingly, our activities as they relate to the System are compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”), and we have taken measures to ensure the System’s HIPAA compliance.
We do not knowingly collect information about children under the age of 18.
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from any person we know to be under eighteen. If we inadvertently come to possess personally identifiable information about a child under the age of eighteen, we will not knowingly disclose that information to any third party.
Security of third-party resources.
We may provide links through the System to unaffiliated third-party resources. Such resources may include, but are not limited to, those for social media, sharing reviews, sharing information or products through articles, blogs, or videos, and billing purposes. By following these links, you acknowledge that we are not responsible for and do not control the information on these resources. Prior to following any third-party link, you should review that resource’s privacy policy and terms of use, as your visit to the resource may bind you to those third-party terms and policies.
California Shine the Light Law and California Consumer Privacy Act.
To the extent that we are subject to California Civil Code Section 1798.83 (commonly known as the “Shine the Light” law), we will so comply. In order to exercise your rights under California’s Shine the Light law, you must make your request to us by email or our registered mailing address. Your request must state that you are exercising your rights under Shine the Light, Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83, and must provide us with sufficient information to identify you as a consumer. If we deem that we are obligated to respond to a Shine the Light request, we will respond to the consumer within 30 calendar days.
To the extent that we are subject to California Civil Code Section 1798.100, commonly known as the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”), we will so comply. If a consumer is a California resident as defined by Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100, the consumer may ask us to disclose to them what personal information we have, what we do with the information, to request that we delete the consumer’s personal information, and to request that we not sell the consumer’s personal information. A California resident may also request to be notified, before or at the point we collect the resident’s information, of the types of personal information we are collecting and what we do with that information. “Do Not Track” feature.
A “Do Not Track” feature may be available to signal that you do not want the platforms that you visit to track your online activity. How platforms communicate and respond to the Do Not Track feature is not yet uniform. For this reason, the System may not currently respond to or alter its practices in response to a Do Not Track signal.
By your continued use of the System, you acknowledge and understand that third parties may collect personal information regarding your online activities over time and across different platforms when you visit the System or other websites and services. If you have any questions or comments about this Privacy Policy, please contact us via phone, email, mailing address, or directly through the System. Information sent to us through the System will be treated as confidential and within the bounds of our provider-patient relationship. In a medical emergency, call 911.
